If you're looking for a heavy-duty belt buckle for your airsoft combat games, we'll walk you through all the advantages and details of the COBRA® buckle as well as its specific features. But first, we'll go over some key information so you understand everything about this hardware. Your tactical belt will be far more durable, since these buckles are used in the military field — and not only there!
Key information about the COBRA® belt buckle
The kilonewton
The kilonewton, abbreviated kN, is a unit of force. If you want to convert kN into kg, note that 1 kN is equal to roughly 100 kg.
The COBRA® buckle by AustriAlpin
AustriAlpin is an Austrian brand founded in 1996. It has made a name for itself through its pursuit of innovation and product quality, right down to the smallest details. Today it is a true benchmark for safety and efficiency, whether in mountain sports, in airsoft or even in the military field.
The advantages of the COBRA® buckle for airsoft
Gear matters in airsoft, which is why your tactical belt needs to be properly equipped. The same goes for your pack, tactical vest and any other equipment that requires a buckle. Buckles are used in many fields: the tactical sector, rescue, fall protection — and we recommend choosing good-quality products so they are reliable and long-lasting.
Unmatched strength
One of the key points when wearing a duty belt is its strength. We mentioned the kilonewton above, and now it comes in handy. The latest COBRA® buckle from AustriAlpin withstands tensile strength tests of up to 9 kN, i.e. 900 kg, and 19 kN in loop configuration. That makes it an excellent choice for your tactical equipment.
On the COBRA® buckle, the cut-out at the back prevents dirt, dust, ice, snow or other debris from getting stuck inside, so it holds up well under extreme performance conditions and this also extends its service life.
The locking system
What's more, the clips on this model must be pressed at the same time to open it: you cannot release it by pressing a single clip, and one-sided unlocking is virtually impossible. You can unlock it with one hand, but release under load is impossible. In an airsoft situation, your tactical belt will not come undone even when you're in combat, when you fall to the ground or when you're crawling flat on your stomach.
To know whether your duty belt is properly fastened, you should hear a "click" when you engage the buckle; once you hear it, you can be sure it won't come undone unless the clips are pressed. It's these small details that make your tactical belt a quality piece of equipment.
Suited to a tactical duty belt
COBRA® buckles adapt easily. Tactical duty belts, backpacks, tactical jackets and all tactical gear requiring a buckle are compatible. At GK, we've applied all our expertise to the belt webbing that goes with this buckle. The nylon webbing is thinner, lighter and above all comfortable. Its weave reinforces the strap and provides quality support and lasting durability. Just rigid enough to properly carry your equipment, this belt can be used for all kinds of purposes, on your personal outings and on your civilian missions!

Often imitated, never equalled
Getting a quality product sometimes means paying the price. Unfortunately, many retailers and marketplaces sell copies of the COBRA® buckle which, apart from a similar look, share none of its sturdiness, locking system or tensile strength. Be careful not to get caught out, and choose a trusted retailer when buying your tactical equipment!
In short
To sum up, COBRA® buckles offer strength, safety and adaptability. You can count on their foolproof locking system for your airsoft games or your plain-clothes operations..
