POLYCARBONATE TONFA 60 CM SPEED, EFFECTIVENESS & SAFETY Electric defense devices, telescopic batons and tonfas are defensive and non-lethal tools. Brought from the United States in 1986 by Robert Paturel, former member of RAID, the tonfa was officially adopted by the French National Police in 1993. It replaced the straight baton and is now used worldwide and by the majority of Police and Gendarmerie services. It is a magnificent tool for deterrence and defense. The telescopic baton is a technical and material evolution for forces: more discreet, better reach and more deterrent. This also allows good distribution and attenuation of impacts received over a wider surface.
